SOLID ALUMINUM RIVETS* • Solid aluminum rivets are inserted into punched or predrilled holes and are used in structural applications. • They are extremely strong, permanent fasteners that join different workpieces together such as aircraft panels. • Aluminum has a high strength-to-weight ratio and is wear resistant, nonmagnetic and conductive. • It is easier to form and machine than steel and is naturally noncorrosive.

SOFT (1100-F) Soft aluminum rivets have no head markings

HARD (2117T4) Hard aluminum rivets can be identified by a small “dimple” in the crown of the head of the rivet

ALUMINUM RIVETS – STANDARD BRAZIER HEAD Full brazier head design gives these rivets a larger bearing surface under the head; resulting in greater resistance to pull through.
