PAT R I O T WELD IN G RODS

HAWK (Steel) Extra low hydrogen electrode produces an exceptionally smooth, spatter free arc transfer on mild and low alloy steels. This electrode exhibits unusually good AC wedling characteristics, slag release and instant re-strike. APPLICATIONS: For joining and repairing of boiler plate, pipe steels, shipbuilding steels, and cast steels. Ideal for weathering steels and steels, such as “Corten”. Great for overlaying shafts and other worn parts. It is also used to repair and fabricate cold and hot rolled steels and most con struction grades. Use on angle irons, beams, tanks and farm equipment. WELDING TECHNIQUES: Clean weld area and chamfer or bevel as needed. Maintain a short arc gap and use a stringer or slight weave technique. Chip slag thoroughly between passes. Peen weld immediately after breaking the arc. WELDING POSITIONS: Flat, Vertical up, Vertical down, Horizontal, Overhead RECOMMENDED CURRENT: DC reverse (+) or AC

MATADOR (Tool Steel)

Tubular large diameter chromium carbide rods for “hard facing”. Thin walled tubular construction allows for very low amperages. General wear protection on all iron base parts subject to abrasion.

APPLICATIONS: Matadors’ special bendable aluminum grip end caps allow for easy gripping & positioning of the electrode. Some typical applications include augers, bucket lips and chutes for transporting sand and gravel. WELDING TECHNIQUES: Using lowest possible amps and while holding the electrode 10° from the vertical position, deposit either stringer or weave beads. WELDING POSITIONS: Flat, Horizontal, Vertical up, Overhead

RECOMMENDED CURRENT: DC reverse (+) or AC

STINGER (Steel) Excellent for high strength steel structures that require toughness and crack resistance to temperatures as low as -76°F (-60°C). Low hydrogen, low temperature, extra low moisture content is below .14%. APPLICATIONS: Nickel bearing low hydrogen designed for joining low alloy steels requiring high elongation combined with excellent low temperature impact values. WELDING TECHNIQUES: Remove all surface contami nants. Maintain a short arc gap and use a stringer or slight weave technique. Chip slag thoroughly between passes. WELDING POSITIONS: Flat, Vertical up, Vertical down, Horizontal, Overhead
