• Heat treated and tempered for long life, clean accurate threads. • Carbon tool steel, hard-chrome finish. • Long-lasting - chrome finish resists rust and tarnish. • Right hand threads, USS and SAE. • Each tap marked permanently with drill size. • 3 types - plug, taper, and bottoming. • Assorted Imports.

• Triple heat treated M7 steel. • Outlasts carbon steel 10 to 1.

• Gold surface treated for maximum lubricity. • Each tap marked permanently with drill size. • Right hand threads, USS/SAE. • Precision ground threads for the ultimate in accuracy and performance. • 3 types - plug, taper and bottoming.

TYPES OF TAPS

PLUG 3 to 5 threads chamfered. General use when tapping to bottom of hole is not critical. (This is the most widely used type of tap.)

TAPER 8 to 10 threads chamfered for easy thread starting in tough materials.

BOTTOMING 1-1/2 threads chamfered. Use after threads have been started for tapping to bottom of hole.
